This Subaru driver got a LOT more than he expected when he threw the car into the notorious Schwedenkreuz corner yesterday. Too much speed, too much steering and lifting off the gas put him sideways at well over 100mph.

But it's what happens next that will really amaze you!

Just watch the full video from Schwedenkreuz regular and YouTuber Eifeler888 below:

I think it's like a trick shot when you're shooting a game of snooker or pool. If you didn't explain the shot before you did it, it's luck. Not skill.

And that Impreza pilot is a lucky guy!

My heart goes out to the driver of the Swift too. I wonder if he knew how close to disaster he was, through no fault of his own?

Schwedenkreuz is one of the trickiest corners on the Nordschleife and notorious for luring in over-enthusiastic first-timers. It's very fast, but there's a peak at the apex that unweights the car. As the steering goes light a lot of people will turn more and lift off the gas. When the weight comes back down onto the wheels they find themselves over-steering to the inside of the corner. Without perfect reactions, you're going to crash. I've seen cars barrel-roll uncountable times, and I've seen people 'get away with it'. This Impreza driver is definitely one of the luckiest guys I've ever seen!"

Do you enjoy BTG?

BTG is NOT a massive operation; it's just me, my camera and my computer. And a lot of help from my friends and family. Thanks!
