Trackdays at the Nürburgring Nordschleife are undoubtedly one of the best ways to enjoy the amazing Nordschleife - either in your own car or a rental car. On a private trackday a club or business will rent the 'ring directly off the management. It will be closed to the public and only paying customers will be allowed on the circuit.

The advantages are normally as follows; less traffic (no bikes or busses), full laps (no pulling off to the ticket barriers each lap), unlimited laps within the times set, flag marshalls, video cameras and instruction allowed.

If you're on a tight budget, only want to complete a couple of laps of the 'ring, or don't care about how busy it is...

If you crash on a track day at the ring do you have to still pay for the damage to the track or barrier?

Yes you still have to pay for barrier damage.

I assume these track days do not come under ATDO track days regs so you wouldn't be able to get UK track day cover (i.e 1st party cover) or could you?

Actually Destination Nürburgring is an ATDO-approved event, well it was last year. So if you have UK ATDO trackday cover, you're covered.

Are you sure the 19th is from speed industries??

My dutch VAG tuners will be there the 19th March with belgium people from Skylimit events. I had also planned to ride a few passenger laps in their new project car..

It's a collaboration again, after last year's event got cancelled. And it's Tobias from speed-industrie s who took the time to write to me, so he gets the plug.
