LATEST UPDATE HERE
For reasons only known to the Belgians. the Zolder 24-hours squeezes all practice and qualifying into the Thursday before the race. And despite the forecast of a mini-heatwave for this weekend, today is definitely very wet and quite cold.
Perfect weather then, to hand works driver Markus Palttala the key to our little car and see what it can do against a significantly faster and fitter field….

I’m super-excited and deeply honoured to tell you that this weekend, I’ve been invited to join Team Yokohama/Skylimits to contest the famous Zolder 24-hour race!

UPDATED WITH ONBOARD VIDEO!
Going straight-on at Adenauer Forst is nothing new or unusual. If you stand there at 8am on a Sunday morning you can probably see a dozen bikes or cars make that mistake in the first hour.
But what happens to this poor E30 is just awful. Continue reading VIDEO: Unlucky E30 driver, wiped out by an Audi TT at Adenauer Forst
The Nürburgring’s weather might be in the middle of a typical high-summer cool patch, but the factory teams of both Porsche and BMW were doing their best to warm it up yesterday.
For an hour before the Skylimits/Getspeed trackday, and two hours after it, the Nordschleife was exclusively hired for just TWO cars: The 2016 BMW M6 GT3 and the Porsche 911 (991) GT3R.

After years of perfect weather on every event, the luck ran out for Trackdays.de yesterday. Who could have guessed a day in August would have been so dark and rainy?

Oldtimer GP is one of the biggest weekends of the Nürburgring year. And with very good reason.
The green hell echoes to an incredible array of engines spanning decades of top-flight racing. And I love it. So here are a few photos from my afternoon spectating the “Marathon” at Adenauer Forst…

Attempts to create a Corvette even crazier than the standard version ended badly this week.
Not content with sharing the Z06’s standard 505hp between two wheels, this modified car added an undisclosed amount of power, then ejected (what appears to be) the rear left wheel and significant pieces of the rear axle.
Just watch the video below:

This weekend the Nürburgring was busy. No, it was packed. Actually, it was SWARMING with holiday-happy visitors.
Perfect weather, an epic VLN race on Saturday (Alzen Ford GT OMG-edition), and then a full day of TF on Sunday.
“What could possibly be better?!”
