#CLUB1000 cars on track

Enough with the crashes, the mayhem, the finger-pointing and the back-stabbing. Thursday is actually my Monday, because the track has been open for the last SIX days, and I’m in the office again.

If you find yourself with a hot drink and a few minutes to spare, I’d invite you to watch the following movie: Continue reading #CLUB1000 cars on track

RANT: Why laptiming is killing Nürburgring TF

The irony of that headline isn’t lost on me. My rants are not totally crazy (yet). This website is called BridgeToGantry.com for many reasons, including the most obvious one. Continue reading RANT: Why laptiming is killing Nürburgring TF

VLN9: Points mean prizes

On Saturday our Milltek Sport team will head out into VLN qualifying with more than just a pole position on our minds. Each of our three drivers will be heading out on to the Nürburgring looking for a pole position that could lead to a championship victory in our first GT86 Cup season.

BLOG: Choosing a #CLUB1000 machine

Despite actually creating the club, I have a confession to make. I still haven’t decided which Litre-car to build yet. Here’s my short-list of the most obvious choices. Because the purpose of the club is to have fun, there’s no right or wrong cars to choose. All I ask is that the car was originally available with a sub-1000cc motor and that it doesn’t use a bike motor, turbo, or supercharger.

So here’s my own short-list: Continue reading BLOG: Choosing a #CLUB1000 machine

UPDATED: Alfa Stelvio QV claims Nürburgring lap record using heavily cut video

They claim their new SUV did 7m51.7s. That’s nearly 25s quicker than a 600kg heavier Range Rover SVR.

But unfortunately, whoever edited the following video did a crappy job, so while the video adds up to exactly 7m51.7s of running, the car covers some sections twice and misses other sections completely.

In other words, it’s a fake video. Maybe, maybe the car did the laptime. But not on this video. So we have to trust a manufacturer that edits videos together.

Let me explain, click play and follow me down the rabbit hole… Continue reading UPDATED: Alfa Stelvio QV claims Nürburgring lap record using heavily cut video

LUDICROUS 6m47.25 Porsche GT2RS 991 onboard video online

This is the fastest street-legal, almost mass production car you’ve ever seen lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

It’s the Porsche GT2RS and not only does it hit ridiculous speeds (293kmh before SX, 313kmh on DH!) but it also corners like a demon rollercoaster on titanium rails.

You. Must. Watch. This. Video.

Porsche 991 GT2RS goes sub-7, is on course for a new Nürburgring Nordschleife record

Standing at T13, the conditions tonight at the Nordschleife are perfect for a lap record. Cool air, dry surface, just a hint of sunshine peeking through the stormy clouds.

Porsche booked two full evenings just for laptiming this week; Tuesday and Wednesday. Yesterday the weather was much cooler, and the track a bit slippery. Locals reported laptimes of over 7-minutes. #Club1000 is coming

A long time ago, before social media, before blogs like this one, a sub-10-minute lap of the Nürburgring Nordschleife was a badge of honour. It took driving skill, track knowledge and courage to achieve.

But nowadays you could do it in airport rental car. I mean you shouldn’t. But you could. Which means it’s all about sub-8-minutes now. Continue reading #Club1000 is coming
