Nige’s plucky little Golf Mk2, the car I jokingly called ‘Das Pinderwagen’ back at DN12, is at it again. Continue reading DN16: KTM X-Bow vs Pinderwagen Golf mk2
Yes, BTG was right, and on October 26th VW was indeed setting another lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife with the Golf Clubsport S.
Wow, my mind boggles. The world’s largest automobile manufacturer hires the world’s biggest (and sometimes most expensive) racing track and attempts a lap record.
And then they record it on a badly installed, aimed at the sky, microphone-almost-none-functional RaceNavigator.
But still… here it is. In all it’s ‘glory’. Now, let’s take a closer look. Continue reading VIDEO: Did VW cheat to make this 7m49s lap?
After last month’s VW shenanigans on Döttinger Höhe, it was plainly obvious that Wolfsburg were gunning for the top spot in the Nürburgring laptime race. And the proof of that dropped on to the internet last night, over at the VW Media site. Along with these awesome photos…
Nigel Pinder’s Golf mk2 turbo is no stranger to the pages of BTG. The Pinderwagen, as BTG christened it, has turned up numerous times on DestinationNürburgring events. It’s a giant-slayer, and with its impressive power-to-weight ratio and strong aeros, this little Golf can help keep any legendary supercar honest.
And supercars don’t get any more legendary than the newest 991 GT3.RS, piloted by no less than Chris Harris!
It should be no surprise that SEAT’s Nürburgring exploits have not gone unnoticed over at Wolfsburg. Stealing the heart out of VW’s top Golf R, then sticking it in an LSD-equipped and so-much-sharper Leon produced, in my opinion, the best MQB-car to date.
The Legend of Nige’s Pinderwagen continues after another successful Nürburgring Trackday at #DN13. While some people seem to dislike his home-built GT3 stalker, others simple love it.
And this video will show you why.
Yesterday I shared my personal TOP5 Nürburgring Crash Videos from last weekend, but little did I know that I was missing one of the craziest videos this month…
There’s a lot to be said for a good trackday at any circuit. But a perfect couple of days on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in the middle of summer? Welcome to Green Heaven… DN-style.
It’s the 40th birthday of the VW Golf next year, and the Wolfsburg crew look like they’ll have an ‘ultimate’ version of the classic FWD platform to bring to the party.
