It’s no secret that the guys at Affalterbach are gunning for Porsche with their latest range of supersports machinery. And when I first saw the green beast, the AMG GT R, I guessed it was aimed at the 991 GT3.
So imagine everybody’s surprise when, in a “real-world” Sport Auto lap, it goes even faster than the money-can’t-buy Porsche 918 Spyder!

Chevrolet are really on a roll at the moment, and they’re turning out some cars with blistering spec-sheets. To that list of forum-conflict-winning arguments, you can now add the 2017 Camaro ZL1.
Because this 1800kg* monster is now nearly as capable around the Nordschleife as a BMW M4 GTS, or at least, so you’d think…
What’s even more mind boggling than that headline is that he had a passenger, and he wasn’t even trying that hard.
In fact, he slows down several times (for reasons as yet unknown) and even has time to high-five the lucky guy on the terror-seat!
