Over the weekend, I dropped something a little different on my YouTube channel. No fancy edits, no lap record claims, and no driving “on the limit.” Just a real car, a real person, and a real lap.

I called it #FasterForFree, and it’s exactly what it sounds like. A video of a real lap, that creates a free 1:1 session with me, at speed, on track. The aim? Making you all safer, smoother, and as a by-product, faster. BUT not by pushing harder or braking later, instead by understanding what’s really happening between you, your car, and the track.
Less hero, more human
Compared to some of the more viral Nordschleife videos out there, #FasterForFree is a bit of an oddball. There’s no laptime leaderboard, no “insane save” moments, and no wildly overdriven corners. And yet… the response I’ve had from this first episode has honestly blown me away!
The views might be modest, but the messages? Incredible. Thoughtful comments, long DMs, even emails, all from people who connected with the honesty of the format. So let me answer a few of the most common questions and explain why I’m committing to this idea.
1. How do I take part?
I thought maybe five or ten people would message me. Maybe someone with a weird car, or a cool story. But this morning? I woke up to over 100 message requests across Facebook and Instagram.
So, I’ve built a proper contact form:

2. Will this only happen at the Nürburgring?
The Nordschleife is my home. I’ve lived here for 17 years, raced here, instructed here, and spent a ridiculous number of laps trying to understand it. But I’ve also raced at Spa, Zolder, Snetterton, Knockhill, Donington, Barcelona, Dubai… the list goes on.
So while about 50% of these episodes will likely be here in the Eifel, I’m aiming to take this format on the road. In fact, the next stop is already booked: Cadwell Park in July. More tracks to follow.
3. Is this about laptimes?
No.
Laptimes are just the by-product of everything else. They’re what happens when you understand the inputs you’re giving, feel the grip, and stop doing silly things out of fear or habit. In the same way that a good meal is more than just its nutritional values, a good lap is more than its stopwatch result.
That’s why I’m not shouting lap times in the video. I’m more interested in the feel, the flow, and how a driver’s confidence evolves during the session.
4. What’s next?
Episode 2 is already in the editing timeline. You’ll see it later this week — so hit that bell icon or whatever the algorithm wants us to say these days.
I’ll also be back on track very soon with our next BTG/Circuit Days Nordschleife event, and I’d love to squeeze in a few videos there, so if you’re around the Nürburgring post-N24, let me know.
This isn’t about proving I’m the fastest, craziest*, driftiest. It’s about helping people go faster, without the stress. And if we have a laugh or a lightbulb moment along the way, even better.
Let me know what you think — and if you want to be in the next one drop me a line.
