It’s not often I’m lost for words when watching an onboard video from the Nürburgring, but I was totally dumb-struck as I watched this onboard from the weekend’s Touristenfahrten.
It shows a rented Porsche Cayman being driven somewhat enthusiastically. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m all about enthusiasm, and I’ve not forgotten the times back when I was learning the 20.8km Nordschleife. I went over Adenauer Forst, and I span, many times. Nobody’s perfect, am I right?
But THIS?! I am literally astounded he didn’t crash. The fact he finishes the lap without a scratch on the car makes me wonder if it isn’t just an amazingly elaborate hoax using an amazing pro driver…
DISCLAIMER: Not a single apex was harmed in the making of this film.

Honda Europe and Renaultsport might have been fighting it out over laptimes for the last year and a bit, but nobody expected this
Last night the Nürburgring closed just a few minutes early, and it wasn’t immediately clear whether the guys wanted an early beer or if something had happened on track…
… the answer was THIS happened: Continue reading It’s not just Meganes that roll-over at Schwedenkreuz
Nigel Pinder’s Golf mk2 turbo is no stranger to the pages of BTG. The Pinderwagen, as BTG christened it, has turned up numerous times on DestinationNürburgring events. It’s a giant-slayer, and with its impressive power-to-weight ratio and strong aeros, this little Golf can help keep any legendary supercar honest.
And supercars don’t get any more legendary than the newest 991 GT3.RS, piloted by no less than Chris Harris!

Despite the dire warnings of snow, blizzards, abominable snow men and no Bitburger trucks for a week, today turned out to be another awesome day at the Nürburgring. Sunshine, open pit lane, fast laps and lots of friends. I even got to thrash a brand-new Clio220 Trophy (video inside).
No big surprises there, we all know Nürburgring is always awesome, but one guy who was quite surprised was Markus. He won a FREE place on today’s Schnelleschwaben trackday, just by following the official BTG Facebook page. After working late for two days, he finally set off on a five-hour drive from deepest Bavaria and arrived late last night.

I don’t know about you, but I’m still getting used to the fact that the Nordschleife is accurately laser-scanned and reproduced in two great PC games. Namely Assetto Corsa and (my favourite) iRacing.
But now there’s another technological marvel ready to frazzle our minds. VR, or Virtual Reality.
Obviously there’s no 2D video we could possibly watch that would prepare us for the sensation of ‘experiencing’ a VR Nordschleife… or is there?

It should be no surprise that SEAT’s Nürburgring exploits have not gone unnoticed over at Wolfsburg. Stealing the heart out of VW’s top Golf R, then sticking it in an LSD-equipped and so-much-sharper Leon produced, in my opinion, the best MQB-car to date.

Oh yes, it’s that time of the year again! The trackdays are flowing in thick and fast… and the fun-loving Bavarians from SchnelleSchwaben are offering one lucky BTGer the chance to join them (and me) on their event this Friday.
How can you win? Just read on…

Conspiracy theorists, sharpen your pencils and prepare your tinfoil hats. Yes, another white Megane rolled at Schwedenkreuz at yesterday, and YES Eifler888 was there to video it…

Last month I shot a rather nice Porsche GT4 Cup car for Getspeed. Turns out that one of the drivers this year is my mate Moritz… better still he was at the Skylimitevents trackday yesterday, and he shot us this video. Enjoy!

Only a few minutes before this crash, I’d left my RingTaxi office to go and look at a gorgeous Nissan R34 Skyline GTR V-spec parked by the Devil’s Diner.
There’s a myth that the Nissan GTR is an easy car to drive fast. this video shows otherwise: Continue reading CRASH: Why the R34 Nissan GTR is still a drivers car
