You’d think that with the proliferation of the internet and the reach of social media, that maybe the accident rate at the Nürburgring would slow down a little. That maybe, because most Nordschleife accidents are more widely viewed than ever before, visitors might be a little more cautious. Or at least, a little bit more aware of the consequences they face.
The Clio crash on Saturday was without a doubt the talk of the Nürburgring for the last couple of days. The driver, who I won’t name, was no stranger to the Nürburgring, but his crash was spectacular, garnering 100,000 views in only a couple of days.
VLN1 was an incredible spectacle. Not only was the weather unusually perfect, but the action was none-stop. For the spectators, this was simply awesome.
If you consult Google Maps, the fast left-hander that is Schwedenkreuz doesn’t really look like much trouble at all. A 30º left-hander with no real drama at all.
So why does the next video show just so much car carnage?
