Regular readers of this blog will remember that, at heart, I’m a bit of a geek. Yes, despite driving and racing all these amazing cars for a living, I still really enjoy sim-racing.
And I’m inviting you to join other BTGers (and myself) on an official 32-slot Assetto Corsa server.
I plugged my first steering wheel into a PC back in the mid-90s, but since then the technology has moved on quite a lot… Continue reading [SIM] BTG and sim-racing (and how to join in!)
I’m a pretty busy guy this year. I can’t seem to find the time to put everything that happens online, but I need to do better. Why?
Because thanks to some crazy half-assed blogging from last year, and a lot of support from my friends and colleagues, BTG now has it’s own driver’s club. And the first event was last month. It was so much fun that we immediately agreed to do another. Continue reading #CLUB1000 first event is a success
One of the ideas that drives BTG is that of opening the curtains, inviting the casual Nürburgring fan to see a little more of the Nordschleife than they might expect.
Well, this 25-Minute documentary commits to that idea in style, from radios under pedals to galling crashes, it pulls no punches.
This is the true story of how the world’s most driven Viper fans gave their iconic supercar the send-off it deserved.

It’s funny how these things work out, but in the final few hours of the 2017 season, the Nürburgring deigned to create a window. A window of opportunity that Vincent Radermacker used to set a 7m21.23s laptime, a whopping 11s faster than the previous four-door ring-record claimant, the Alfa Romeo Giulia QV.
First you should watch the onboard video of the lap record run here:

It’s winter, the Nordschleife has officially closed, and the only vehicles driving a lap of the Nordschleife right now are Unimogs, Trucks and panel vans. The official plans, which are laid bare belows, call for over 1km of new track surface to be laid over the Nürburgring, and several new FIA catchfences too.
Where, when and how much? Read on below… Continue reading PHOTOS: The 2018 Nürburgring Nordschleife upgrades are underway
Enough with the crashes, the mayhem, the finger-pointing and the back-stabbing. Thursday is actually my Monday, because the track has been open for the last SIX days, and I’m in the office again.
If you find yourself with a hot drink and a few minutes to spare, I’d invite you to watch the following movie: Continue reading #CLUB1000 cars on track
Four days of driving, spread over two circuits, the Nordschleife and the full Nürburgring F1 circuit. And then, just minutes from the last lap of the day… Continue reading Freak 14-car pile-up mars otherwise perfect weekend
