You might want to call me a nostalgic fool, but I just love watching these old N24 videos. They’re full of real production-based tin-top racing.
This gem from 1994 is full of BMW E36s, a few E30s and some really cool Ford Sierras and Opel Astras. Check out the centre-locks on the FINA E36!
It’s not that I dislike GT3 cars, I’ve driven them, raced against them, and think they’re generally awesome. I just don’t think they belong in the same grid as Toyota GT86s and BMW 325s. Continue reading VIDEO: Hello? Is that 1994? Can we have our N24 back please?
It was a time of mullets, neon colours, and perfectly prepared production saloons and hatchbacks. Yes, I know, that could be any time in Germany’s recent history.
But I’m actually referring to the mid-1980s.

This year’s 24-hours of Nürburgring will go down in the history books for so many reasons. While others choose to fix their gaze on the negatives surrounding the 2015 race (speed limits and tougher qualification rules resulting in a 25% drop in entries), I want to look at the positives.
“It’s all about the fans,” enthuses Adam Osieka. “They come first, everything else second. And for them, I think it was a great race.”

Well, we did it. We took a 155,000 km street car and added a little over 1750kms at full race speed around the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Some people said not to, they said it was impossible, a waste of time and money. I think that we, Team BTG and Hipercars.de, proved them all wrong.
