It’s been a long time coming, but here it is. The official BridgeToGantry.com trackday at the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

Russian racetrack refugee Boosted Boris has already made one guest appearance on BTG earlier this year. Here he is again, as I attempt to give him a short classroom session.

This isn’t just a great onboard video of a hot new BMW M-car on the Nürburgring Nordschleife. It marks a radical departure for the Bavarian brand – all the other M-car laptimes you’ll find scattered around the internet are based on unsubstantiated claims or SportAuto magazine hotlaps. The German racing authority (the DMSB) just released more details on the combined plan to keep racing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife both safe and competitive. And it makes for some interesting reading (albeit in German).
Working together with the circuit owners, the FIA and each individual race organiser (VLN, RCN and N24), there are a number of things that will change before we can begin racing again next year… without speed limits!

It’s nearly five years since BMW dropped its turbocharged bombshell on an unsuspecting fanbase. Harking back to the times of the 2002 Turbo, the 1M Coupe combined the smallest available chassis with a huge amount of torque.
“I wanted it,” admits Simon Eibl of Laptime-Performance.de. “I bought one almost straight away. And I promised myself I wouldn’t modify it too much.”
Fortunately for us, Simon didn’t keep that promise.

After nearly 10 years away, I’ve finally made the trip back to Norway’s capital city; Oslo.
Why am I here? Well, I’m just following my Project E30…
Continue reading Hello, Oslo. It’s been too long.
My first laps of the Nürburgring were nearly 17 years ago, and they were virtual. When it was released Grand Prix Legends was instantly one of the best driving games ever. And one of the first games that could actually do the word ‘simulation’ some justice.
Maybe that’s why I enjoyed this video so much.

The Nürburgring operators updated the official webshop last night to include 2016 Nordschleife Touristenfahrten tickets and the infamous Jahreskarte (JK), or season pass.
As expected, the prices once again took a pretty substantial step up, with the season ticket costing €1900. There is some good news though…

Aghhh… I really do hate these crashes. Earlier this year BMW E30 lovers watched with horror as an Audi TT understeered into the hapless classic.
This is almost exactly the same crash, but where the E30 once stood now stands a hapless E36 on German plates. And the TT has been replaced by a Belgian-plated BMW E46 M3.
It’s only a short clip, and you can watch for yourself here: Continue reading VIDEO: BMW E36 wiped out by BMW E46 at Adenauer Forst
Back at the start of the year, I wrote three individual posts (1,2 & 3) about Powerslide Lover bringing his La Ferrari to the Nürburgring Nordschleife in touristenfahrten.
If that seems excessive, then I apologise. But it was quite exciting at the time.
