It’s no surprise that the Green Hell Driving Days have once again delivered some of the most memorable moments of 2016: most of them good.
Just a quick update with a far-too-short video I shot in the evening. The little mid-engine Hyundai has generated a massive wave of interest around the world, but its appearances on the Nürburgring have been all too short and sporadic. Almost a year ago, Bentley teased us all with a rather dapper 911-fighting sportscar concept, the two-seater EXP Speed 6. In their own words it’s a “lighter, sportier, Bentley”
Since then it’s been no big secret that the guys and girls at Crewe have been exploring the concept a little further. It’s even got a name, the Bentley “Barnato”, after Le Mans winner Woolf Barnato.
This week it’s probably testing at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, and here are the photos and video thatnhave got us wondering…
Hyundai, it would seem, are pretty damn serious about their new ‘N’ performance brand. At first I thought their hottest new ‘N’ car might just be a 250hp i20. A contender for the Golf Mk6 Edition 30 of 2010.
But then I just saw this…
Chevrolet are really on a roll at the moment, and they’re turning out some cars with blistering spec-sheets. To that list of forum-conflict-winning arguments, you can now add the 2017 Camaro ZL1.
Because this 1800kg* monster is now nearly as capable around the Nordschleife as a BMW M4 GTS, or at least, so you’d think…
What’s even more mind boggling than that headline is that he had a passenger, and he wasn’t even trying that hard.
In fact, he slows down several times (for reasons as yet unknown) and even has time to high-five the lucky guy on the terror-seat!
You’ll just have to pick up your jaw from off of that floor and check out the video further down the page. It’s worth it.
The last race of the year at the Nürburgring is rarely smooth sailing. VLN10 was no exception, as these videos show.

The Nürburgring’s global marketing magnetism has pulled in another early prototype, this time the Chinese supercar by NextEV. Continue reading NextEV bring 1360hp Electric Supercar to the Nürburgring
Any racing driver will tell you, a good overtake is clean, decisive and clear.
This overtake is absolutely none of those things.
And the result is predictably heart-breaking…
